Overview
LiftIQ builds professional software for the vertical-transportation industry. This policy covers the LiftIQ family of iOS apps:
- LiftIQ Field Meter — an on-device field-testing and documentation app for individual specialists.
- LiftIQ Pro and company-branded editions of it (such as Southwest ServiceOps) — field apps used by mechanics and technicians of companies that run the LiftIQ Pro platform.
- LiftIQ Notify — a companion app for building owners and managers to follow a live service request.
None of our apps contain advertising, ad networks, analytics trackers, or third-party tracking SDKs. We do not sell personal information, and we do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
LiftIQ Field Meter
LiftIQ Field Meter is designed to operate on-device. It may process measurement and test records you create, property and unit information you enter, photos, videos, audio recordings and transcripts, motion-sensor data used for speed and ride-quality analysis, ambient sound and light measurements, and optional location data used to help populate jobsite address information.
Your test records, maintenance and service-visit records, media, and exports remain on your device unless you explicitly export or share them. We do not collect or transmit your data to LiftIQ servers in the current shipping build. Crew sharing syncs over the account owner's own iCloud (Apple CloudKit), not LiftIQ servers. Subscriptions are sold and managed through Apple via StoreKit; LiftIQ does not receive your payment card information.
LiftIQ Pro and branded ServiceOps editions
LiftIQ Pro (and branded editions such as Southwest ServiceOps) is a field app for mechanics and technicians whose employer runs the LiftIQ Pro platform. Because these apps connect to your company's LiftIQ service, some information is transmitted to and stored on that service:
- Account data. Your name, work sign-in identifier, and mechanic credentials, used to authenticate you against your company's LiftIQ service. Face ID unlock, where enabled, is evaluated entirely on your device by iOS; LiftIQ never receives biometric data.
- Field records. Maintenance visits, service and repair records, inspections, photos, notes, and related documentation you submit as part of your work. These records belong to your employer's LiftIQ workspace.
- Location data. Described in detail below.
- Device status. While technician telemetry is active, periodic status heartbeats may include battery level and network connectivity, so dispatch can tell whether a technician's device is reachable.
Location — when in use
The app uses your location to verify field activity before ServiceOps, callback, and repair records can be submitted — for example, confirming a visit record was created at the jobsite.
Location — background (mechanics on active work)
The app uses background location to verify active ServiceOps work, technician connectivity, and field submission context while a visit is in progress. Background location runs only when technician telemetry is enabled for your account and an active work session is in progress. While active, the app records periodic location samples (approximately every five minutes) and shares them with your employer's LiftIQ service. When you are en route to a service request, your live position and estimated arrival time may also be shown to the customer awaiting service through LiftIQ Notify or a tokenized tracking link your company shares with that customer. Background location stops when the work session ends.
You can grant, deny, or revoke location access at any time in iOS Settings. Denying a permission only disables the specific feature that depends on it; your company's policies determine whether location verification is required for submitting work records.
Customer contact data
Companies using the LiftIQ Pro platform may store contact details for their customers — such as building contacts' names, phone numbers, email addresses, and service addresses — in their LiftIQ workspace. This information is entered and controlled by the service company, is used only to schedule, perform, and communicate about service (for example, sending a live-tracking link or a completion notice), and is never sold or used for advertising. LiftIQ processes it on the service company's behalf.
Other permissions used
- Camera: AR measurement of door openings, cab dimensions, and field geometry, and maintenance-visit QR code scanning. On LiDAR-capable devices, native scene reconstruction is used for accurate measurements.
- Microphone: measuring ambient sound levels in dBFS for cab interior, machine room, and landing noise documentation, and recording audio notes.
- Motion & fitness: reading accelerometer, gyroscope, and barometer data to measure ride quality, speed, acceleration, deceleration, jerk, and vibration.
- Speech recognition: transcribing recorded audio notes into field documentation text.
- Face ID: unlocking the app after your first mechanic password login on this device.
LiftIQ Notify
LiftIQ Notify is for building owners and managers. It requires no account and no password: opening a tracking link your service company sends you is what grants access to that request. The app processes:
- the tracking token from your link, used to look up your service request;
- messages you send on the request thread, which are shared with your service company;
- service status updates delivered to you — including, while a mechanic is en route, the mechanic's live position and estimated arrival time (this is the technician's location, not yours).
LiftIQ Notify does not request access to your location, camera, microphone, or contacts, and contains no analytics or advertising SDKs.
Third-party AI providers (LiftIQ Pro platform)
The LiftIQ Pro platform offers optional third-party AI integration with ChatGPT (OpenAI) and Claude (Anthropic) over their APIs. This is a Pro-tier feature, it is off by default, and it is used only when an administrator or user explicitly enables it. It does not apply to the on-device Field Meter app.
The integration uses a bring-your-own-key model: customers connect their own OpenAI and/or Anthropic account and API key, control their own usage, and can disable the feature at any time. Before any data is sent to a provider, LiftIQ can redact sensitive details such as property names, addresses, unit identifiers, and customer identifiers, and lets the user preview and approve each request. Only the records you choose to process are sent, and each external request can be logged with a timestamp, provider, model, redacted prompt, response, and cost metadata for accountability. Information transmitted to a provider is processed under that provider's own API terms and privacy commitments.
In the Field Meter app, audio-note transcription uses Apple's on-device speech recognition path when available, and on-device session summaries use Apple's Foundation Models / Apple Intelligence path on supported devices and regions.
Subscriptions and billing
LiftIQ Field Meter subscriptions are sold and managed through Apple via StoreKit. LiftIQ Pro platform service is billed to companies directly by LiftIQ, with payments processed by Stripe. The iOS apps themselves never collect or store payment card information.
Children
LiftIQ apps are professional tools intended for adult users in the vertical-transportation industry and the building owners and managers they serve. The apps are not directed to children under 13.
Data retention and deletion
In Field Meter, saved records, media, and exports remain in the app until you delete them, and removing the app deletes all locally stored data. In LiftIQ Pro and branded editions, work records and telemetry are retained in your employer's LiftIQ workspace under your employer's policies; contact your employer or support@liftiqpro.com for access or deletion requests. Notify tracking links expire when your service company closes or revokes the request.
Your choices
- Grant, deny, or revoke camera, microphone, motion, speech, or location permissions at any time in iOS Settings.
- Delete saved tests and attached files within Field Meter.
- Manage or cancel Field Meter subscriptions through Apple's subscription settings.
- Direct access, correction, or deletion requests about employer-held records to your employer, or to us at support@liftiqpro.com.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the apps change. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the apps after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
